Description

A sweet and smoky appetizer that combines Lil’ Smokies with pineapple and jalapeños for a crowd-pleasing bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14 oz) Lil’ Smokies sausages
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
  • 1-2 jalapeños, sliced (adjust based on heat preference)
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the Lil’ Smokies sausages to the bowl and toss them in the sauce mixture until they are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the coated Lil’ Smokies in a single layer in a baking dish. Scatter the diced pineapple and jalapeño slices over the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the sausages are heated through and slightly caramelized, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired before serving.

Notes

Fresh pineapple makes a difference in texture; canned can be used in a pinch if dried well.
