- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar (for cinnamon sugar swirl)
- 1/4 cup cream cheese frosting (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Mix together the mashed bananas, sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.
- Combine cinnamon and sugar for the swirl in a small bowl.
- Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it, then layer the remaining batter on top.
- Add the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top, and use a knife to swirl it into the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Top with cream cheese frosting before serving (optional).
Notes
For a softer top, tent a sheet of foil loosely over the pan for the last 15 minutes of baking.
