Comforting salted caramel butter bars with a buttery oat crust and a sprinkle of sea salt.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form a crust.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Crumble the remaining oat mixture on top of the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
- Serve warm with ice cream or coffee.
Notes
Let the bars cool for at least 20 minutes for cleaner slices. For firmer bars, chill in the fridge after cooling.
