Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Crack in the eggs and add vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until no dry bits remain.
- Mix in chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider replacing half the sugar with unsweetened applesauce or Greek yogurt and using whole wheat flour.
